Join the advisory board

The Adoption Partnership Advisory Board meets quarterly, and membership is drawn from a range of adoptive parents from across the Regional Adoption Agency (RAA) and service managers.

The purpose of the board is to provide a stakeholder perspective to the RAA and to act as a conduit between those living the adoption journey and policy and decision makers within the RAA.

It is vital that membership of the board is drawn from a wide range of adopters to best reflect the broadest experiences within adoption.

We welcome:

  • adopters who had children placed some years ago and are parenting older children
  • recently approved adopters
  • same sex adopters
  • adopters of all races, ethnicities and cultural backgrounds
  • single adopters
  • sibling group adopters
  • adopters of children with complex needs.

We are looking for members who could commit to 4 meetings per year to join our advisory board. We currently meet virtually on Microsoft Teams and plan to continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

If you feel you have the time and would like to consider joining our board, we would love to hear from you. Please email us at apcoordinator@kent.gov.uk or call 03000 420508.

Karen, adoptive parent and board member
